Send in the clowns...

This evening, Myles took Mommy and Daddy to the Great Circus Parade compound at Veterans Park on Milwaukee's lakefront.

Myles enjoyed watching the camel rides and elephant rides.

The circus parade is this weekend, but all of the wagons, horses (which pull the wagons) and circus animals are set up in the park for the week for all to see. Mommy took Myles through the crowded animal display tent where they saw a kangaroo, llamas, ostriches, tortoises, goats and a bunch of other things they weren't sure they could identify. Myles giggled hard at some of the baby animals.

It was a beautiful evening by the lake.

Ol' Blue Eyes

Myles had his first visit to the eye doctor today and, as usual, he was full of smiles! The doctor specifically commented how nice it was to have a happy baby for a change because he typically sees screaming babies. Myles's eyes are not only beautiful, but healthy as well. He doesn't need to go back for another visit until he is ready to start school.

4th of July Weekend

Well, it was a big, long weekend. Sadly, we have virtually no photos to show for it. Daddy had Friday off work, so we visited Grandpa and Grandpa T's place for lunch. Dan, Tiffany and Cole joined us. Then, we headed over to Cousin Cole's place for a little fun in the pool and in the hot tub. (We didn't go crazy with photos because we just photographed Myles in the pool 2 weeks earlier.) We got home in time for Myles to have a late dinner.

Then, we packed up on Saturday (the 4th) and went to Uncle Wes and Aunt Dotty's for a baby shower / holiday party. There, we spent time with Grandma A. and Aunt Jenny. So, basically, Myles got to see the majority of his fan club during a whirlwind, 2-day, multi-state tour. I don't know why we didn't take any pictures there.

We returned home Saturday evening for a planned redneck fireworks celebration with several neighbors. Myles had a late and long nap, so he was up for the duration. He enjoyed the excitement of the after-dark gathering of so many friends and seeing all of his older friends play with sparklers. However, he didn't really enjoy the dozens of whistling, reporting rockets that we fired off later, and Mommy and Daddy had to alternate between watching the show and playing with Myles inside Ms. Tina and Mr. James's house.

Sunday, we spent the day at home relaxing, sitting on the deck, playing with toys, pulling ourselves up to standing positions and generally goofing around. Myles added new foods to his growing menu, as he overly enjoyed some mac n' cheese for lunch, and then Daddy grilled a big turkey breast that Myles also seemed to enjoy at dinner. In the evening after dinner, we took a stroll around the neighborhood. Myles kicked back and enjoyed the ride in his usual, laid back fashion. All in all, it was a great weekend.

A Great Day for the Zoo

Today was cloudy and cool, but it was a great day for the zoo. Myles met his friends Sydney and Wesley there and we all had a wonderful time. Myles is showing more and more interest in the animals, which is fun.

Also, as a general Myles update, he is making huge strides in his eating (not the amount, which he has never had issues with, but in moving from baby food to table food). He now regularly eats chicken, red grapes, pears and goldfish crackers - all of which he absolutely LOVES. He has also eaten strawberries, bananas, peas and sweet potatoes. He says "uh oh" and "bye bye" and tries to mimic many things we do. He is motoring all over the place and still gets into everything! He loves to pull himself up to a standing position and has mastered the one stair at his babysitter's house. We still find him in funny positions as this picture shows. We don't know how he got this way - we turned around for a minute and when we turned back, he was in his toy basket. He keeps us laughing, that's for sure!

Swimmin' Machine

Myles got a new pool and tried it out for the first time this afternoon. He loved it! And, Mommy loves being home with Myles on Fridays!

His friend, Michael, stopped by to say hi and Myles really enjoyed the company!

Daddy left work a little early today, so he got to play too!

Father's Day

Sunday was Daddy's first Father's Day as a father, and Myles's first Father's Day altogether. Uncle Dan and Aunt Tiffany hosted, which was great because they have a fantastic pool and it was a beautiful day. With myself, Dan, Grandpa T. and Tiffany's dad, there were four fathers celebrating with their families.

It was also Myles's first time swimming. He didn't show the least bit of concern about getting into the pool and he obviously enjoyed every second of it. It was really fun to watch him splash and kick and laugh, and his cousin Cole was very attentive and continuously brought Myles his pool toys to share.

Baby Brew

Myles attended his first tailgate and Brewers game on Sunday, with Mommy, Daddy and Gramma. It was a beautiful day for a game and Myles seemed to really enjoy himself. I know the rest of us had a great time watching him take everything in.
