A Great Day for the Zoo

Today was cloudy and cool, but it was a great day for the zoo. Myles met his friends Sydney and Wesley there and we all had a wonderful time. Myles is showing more and more interest in the animals, which is fun.

Also, as a general Myles update, he is making huge strides in his eating (not the amount, which he has never had issues with, but in moving from baby food to table food). He now regularly eats chicken, red grapes, pears and goldfish crackers - all of which he absolutely LOVES. He has also eaten strawberries, bananas, peas and sweet potatoes. He says "uh oh" and "bye bye" and tries to mimic many things we do. He is motoring all over the place and still gets into everything! He loves to pull himself up to a standing position and has mastered the one stair at his babysitter's house. We still find him in funny positions as this picture shows. We don't know how he got this way - we turned around for a minute and when we turned back, he was in his toy basket. He keeps us laughing, that's for sure!

Swimmin' Machine

Myles got a new pool and tried it out for the first time this afternoon. He loved it! And, Mommy loves being home with Myles on Fridays!

His friend, Michael, stopped by to say hi and Myles really enjoyed the company!

Daddy left work a little early today, so he got to play too!

Father's Day

Sunday was Daddy's first Father's Day as a father, and Myles's first Father's Day altogether. Uncle Dan and Aunt Tiffany hosted, which was great because they have a fantastic pool and it was a beautiful day. With myself, Dan, Grandpa T. and Tiffany's dad, there were four fathers celebrating with their families.

It was also Myles's first time swimming. He didn't show the least bit of concern about getting into the pool and he obviously enjoyed every second of it. It was really fun to watch him splash and kick and laugh, and his cousin Cole was very attentive and continuously brought Myles his pool toys to share.

Baby Brew

Myles attended his first tailgate and Brewers game on Sunday, with Mommy, Daddy and Gramma. It was a beautiful day for a game and Myles seemed to really enjoy himself. I know the rest of us had a great time watching him take everything in.

Adventure Monkey

Myles is starting to show a very strong will to get to where he wants, and he's not afraid to work at it a little bit.

Bonding with Grandma T.

Myles had lots of quality time with Grandma T. this week. Myles's babysitter is on vacation, so Grandma came to help out. She arrived on Tuesday afternoon and stayed until Friday afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday, it was just Myles and Grandma and they had a blast. They played, went to the park, went for walks and played some more. Hopefully, Grandpa can come along next time! It's wonderful having them home for the summer!

Lazy Sunday

Just a short clip of Myles being Myles on Sunday afternoon. This is the sort of thing he's up to these days. Crawling and rolling around, tweaking door stops and talking smart.

Rough Start, Great Day

We had a rough start to the day with a crabby Myles waking up a crabby Mommy at 5:30 this morning. However, after an all morning nap (which started about 8:30 and ended about 11:30), the rest of the day was fabulous! We went for a very long walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful weather and then hit the park for awhile.

For the first time, Myles showed an interest in the stairs, so baby gate time will probably soon be upon us.

We wanted to show Daddy our new moves at the park so we headed back after dinner. Based upon his interest in the stairs this morning, we started working on the stairs at the park.

He also really enjoyed the slide today. So far, he makes it to the edge and then waits for Mommy to go down with him. However, Mommy keeps a close eye because this fearless kid would probably head down all on his own if given much of a chance.

Party Animal

Myles attended a birthday party this afternoon for a little boy in the neighborhood. He enjoyed playing with bubbles and a pool full of colorful balls. He wouldn't try any snowcone, but he did have his first taste of cupcake and seemed to enjoy it. Good practice for his upcoming birthday!

Myles had a playdate this morning with his friends Sydney & Wesley. Mommy forgot the camera, so unfortunately, there is no picture to share. He was a very good boy and enjoyed playing with his friends and their toys. Last night, Myles was offered cut up carrots and beans with his dinner; however, he was not interested. Today, he was offered cut up banana and more carrots and beans, but he was still not interested. We'll keep trying...
